Can I connect to different networks in a P2P program?

Some Dude asked:

I have Frostwire. Can I connect to, for example, the Ares, eDonkey, FastTrack, etc. networks instead of the default Gnutella?

I fear not no as far as i know frostwire only uses the Gnutella network. If you want something that spans a lot of networks then Sharaza is quite good connecting to Gnutella and ed2k. Otherwise a little known german clinet known as kceasy connects to Gnutella, OpenFT and Ares networks. It also had support for Fasttrack although this has been discontinued because of legal reasons.

Also ive heard bad things about the FastTrack network so id stick to Gnutella, Ares and ed2k. Or go over to Bit torrent.
